Jeez it's been a month?

Oh, okay, wow, I didn't meant to let a month pass without posting, but it's flown by! I've been working nonstop since Christmas, and when I'm not I'm spending my days with my lovely lovely boyfriend (who took care of me when I was sick [and make-up-less!]) or cooking.
Thankfully, next week I'll be leaving god-forsaken Souplantation (it's really a great restaurant, good, healthy food, etc but they're shit to their employees) and be working ONLY at Starbucks. Then I'll finally have time to catch up with reading, with life, sleep, and on my reading.

And, although this is 19 days late, I must post my New Years Resolutions.
2011:
-Buy fewer, but nicer, things
-Volunteer
-Be more patient
-Lose the weight, in a healthy way
-Travel SOMEWHERE
-Become a certified pilates instructor (mad $$$)
-Finish at LEAST one script.
-Appreciate everything.

Now for some photos!

Christmastime, again.

I've been so busy making presents and working the past two weeks I've completely forgotten to update.

Starbucks has hired me and I start after the holidays, and once they start giving me enough hours I'm quitting my current job.
I've finished seven scarves and four paintings, the last awaiting wrapping paper.
I'm about to pack up and go back home to LA for the Holidays, and getting to see my mom and Audrey, and my other friends, and most importantly, my dog, Jewels.

Also, I MADE DONUTS the other day-- and healthy ones at that!
I'll post real pictures (of paintings and my latest culinary adventures) as soon as I get back.

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
May Santa give you lots of awesome shit.

The Season of Giving (too much)

I'm over loading myself with tons of work at god-forsaken Souplantation (I HATE this place now) and busy making four paintings and seven scarves for Christmas gifts, among buying a few more presents.
On the bright side, I had my second interview at Starbucks yesterday, and it's almost definite that I'll be working here soon = ]
The updates may be scarce the next few weeks due to work and knitting, but I hope you all have lovely weeks!

Work work work

Been working far too much lately.
Right now it's POURING out (which I love, usually) and I'm hoping one of my roommates will get home so I don't have to bike a mile in this weather.
The new Harry Potter movie was AMAZING. Best one yet, I'd say. I was there for the midnight show, wand hanging from my beltloop, and even though they changed it a lot from the book, Dobby and Hedwig's death still resulted in small sobs and the cinematography was beautiful.
I finished my painting finally, it doesnt look quite how I had hoped it would, but it's still pretty neat (picture to come soon), and I've mastered making blueberry bars like they have at Starbucks.
I'm really excited to go back to LA for five days, mainly to see friends who are home from college and even more so, Black Friday sales. Can anyone say "new shoes"?

Trying not to eat all 12 Cinnamon rolls on display at starbucks.

Lately I've been infinitely more tired than usual, and a lot more hungry. Right now, I thought updating would be a perfect way to keep me from eating all of the really yummy looking cinnamon rolls in the display case.
My painting is almost done and I FINALLY finished re-reading hp7. I still need to get my tickets for opening night, though.
I've been working too much lately, and this week is about to start even longer days there until thanksgiving.

Thankfully, I'm going back to LA to see all my friends back from college for the holiday = ]
I can't think of much more to write and my hands are FREEZING (why do they keep it at 50* in here??) so I'll leave this as-is for now and may add more throughout the week to avoid rambling.

Hope you're all having a lovely week!

Home for the Weekend

I went back to LA this past weekend to visit friends and do some shopping (but accidently left my laptop in San Diego, which is why it took me so long to post again) and got some lovely new sweaters and stockings. It was a really nice little vacation and saw friends every night. The only downside was my mom uninviting me to our family vacation, meaning I'll no longer be going to Europe for winter. Needless to say we're not on excellent terms at the moment, and I may just go to New York for a week or so, though i really ought to go back south to visit family.

THANK YOU RHAPSODY IN BOOTS. I LOVE my birthday presents
You're a wonderful, lovely person. The book and CD are incredible, and I enjoyed many a coffee and scone.

I'm painting again and trying to write more. Working on a new piece for my City Series, this time it's the Los angeles skyline.
It's much more realistic looking than my other paintings, but I may collage it a bit.
If anyone has an idea for me to write a story on, let me know!

In further news, I think I want to start acting again, seriously this time.

Clouds and Canvases.

This week has been super lovely and cloudy, my favorite kind of weather.
Been writing a lot, finally, and thinking a lot, but that's not too unusual.
My phone broke Saturday morning (do not text over running sinks.) and I had to pay far too much to get a new one.
Bought some lovely new (and large) canvases and paints and will hopefully start on a new painting some time this week if I have time off work.

Edit:I love when you can tell its fall because you have to wear wool stockings with riding boots just to walk to starbucks. It's suddenly started POURING and it's gorgeous, sitting here sharing a table with a stranger (who kindly offered me a seat after I gave up my table to a big group of women), watching the water cascade off the roof. I have my coffee and a cinnamon bread, and a big big notebook to write lots and lots of stories until the rain lets up a little.

Also, this just gave me some great ideas (thank you Glamour email list!)

Hope you're all doing lovely.
