Getting Myself Back.

I'm reading a lot more, writing a lot more, and drawing again.
Since I got my GED and left school halfway through senior year (because I wasn't learning anything new, I left, moved to New York for a month, and came home.) I've lost myself.
I lost my style, my will to read and draw, to be creative.
Today I taught myself to ride a bike and rode two miles to the library and got a card and five new books, which I will devour in their wonderful entirety, no short cuts.
I will finish writing the three novels and two movies I have never completed, and be satisfied with the outcome.
I will lose the fifteen pounds I gained in the past year, find thrift stores and re-develope a slightly classier version of my old, incredible, funky style, and I will be truly happy with myself for the first time in about six years.

And it will be wonderful.

Lovliness and the Heat.

It's been at least 100 degrees out every day and my roommate and I are carless so we've taken up to marathons of Skins and Doctor Who, painting, reading, and running two miles every morning, resulting in my legs throbbing.
I'm half way through my most recent painting, part of a city series I'm doing.
Either later today or tomorrow I'm going to walk to nearby shops and change my style. Cassie from "Skins" and Keira Knightly type clothing is what I'm aiming for. The British have got it right.

All settled in.

I'm all moved into my new place, ikea furniture built, underwear folded, pantry stocked, and hair very red.
I've been applying for jobs the past few days (and am currently awaiting their replies) and this morning had no cash left for the bus, so missed my first day of college and was quite unable to crash the classes I wanted to get into, which is why I'm now home on a Monday morning, writing this.
If anyone knows of a bike I may buy in San Bernadino, CA, let me know.

(My new red hair, until two weeks ago I had towhead blonde my entire life)

Moving On

The time has come to pack up once more and be on my way.
I had a tearful, nice last day at the salon, and my boss and two of the stylists gave me starbucks cards so I don't spend all of my rent money on coffee.
I'm physically and mentally exhausted, but today I'm going to finish both of my books, pack the rest of them, some clothes, and organize all my files/ notebooks/ important things before it gets too late.
Possibly Disneyland for my last day tomorrow, but nothing definite.

That lovely calm

This week, though clustered with errands, has been more relaxing than I had thought.
Comi-con and San Diego were amazing, navigating through a sea of decked out geeks while considerably lifted, attempted 8 am work outs, and the luxury of room service. A slight issue involving a girl vomiting for four hours and the paramedics being (unecessarily) called, but an otherwise great weekend.

One week until my last day at the salon, two weeks until I move into my own apartment with friends.Photobucket

Sandy Ego

The past week has been so busy with working, helping my mom move into her new place (and staying here for the next three weeks until I have to pack and move again) and trying to get my school things sorted.
But now I'm off to San Diego until Sunday night for Comicon (comic book convention) and will come home with plenty of geeky goodies!
Life is pretty good these days = ]

Oh the relief!

The burden of the world is now off of my shoulders, thank Buddha.
Rather than going to New York in two months, I am moving 45 minutes away to live with a good friend and go to the college nearby.
No more student loans and crying daily from stress and spending 8 grand!
I still get to be out of my house, but close to my best friends.

Two weeks go comi-con in San Diego.
Two months until I move into my own place! (This means a lot more furniture and interior posts to come)
I can finally finally breathe : )
